In order to find out the relationship of baptism and salvation we need to study all the passages that discuss BOTH baptism and salvation. When we do, we notice that in every instance baptism is mentioned BEFORE salvation.

Acts 2:38 1) baptism2) remission of sins

Acts 22:16 1) baptism2) sins washed away

1 Pet. 3:21 1) baptism2) salvation.

In EVERY INSTANCE when baptism and salvation are mentioned together, salvation FOLLOWS being baptized.
