HYPOCRISY:

Live in a world of hypocrisy:

a. "love",

1. then revolution,

2. love those on street, not let parents know where you are, etc

b. Not new, has also been here in times past!

THE BIBLICAL CASE AGAINST HYPOCRISY:

1. Condemned by Jesus, Mtt. 23: esp. vs. 27-28

2. Condemned and illustrated again by Jesus, Lk. 6:41-46

"to say and to do not'¹!

3. Condemned by Paul, Rom. 2:lff

4. Condemned by John, 1 Jn. 3:17-18

5. Condemned by James, James 2:15-16, 3:17

6. DEFINED:

a. lit. to answer, to give and answer.

b. then, of stage actors,

c. then, by metonymy, any one that was "acting a part"

d. in common language, "pretend to be what you ain't"

e. IS A LIE. ALL LIARS CONDEMNED, NO PART IN HEAVEN.

Rev. 21:8; 22:14-15

f. IS SERIOUS, CAN (and some will) lose YOUR SOUL FOR IT. Is as bad as idolatry.

THE CASE AGAINST OURSELVES:

1. Pray: thank-you for the privilege of meeting here - then not bother to meet!

1. excuse offered: hypocrites there!

a. also in world, but not drop out of that

b. also in hell, not able to "drop out of that!

C. are one for this excuse, say love Lord, then not do what says!

2. pray: forgive us as we forgive:

a. then not forgive.

1. are too self righteous,

2. even worse when not forgive brother in Christ! Hypocrite.

3. autonomy of church, (1 Pet. 5, Acts 20: ), then

a. Herald of truth, etc, elders over see "brotherhood work"

4. Bible our only guide,

a. then not study, HYPOCRITE, are really following men/traditions

5. Sing "I want to be a worker for the Lord"---

a. then NEVER WORK,

b. NEVER = Encourage others, teach others, teach self, set up studies, just visit, etc.

6. SING TRUST AND OBEY? there is no other way?

a. then teach "faith only", hypocrite and liar.

b. indicate you "trust the Lord and obey Him" when NOT DO SO,

CP. Luke 6:46 - in line of hypocrite!

1 Jn. 2:3-4, a liar,

Mk. 16:15-16 what He says, trust and OBEY, there is no other way!

a. What to do to go to hell? NOTHING, YOU ARE GOING THE RIGHT DIRECTION ALREADY.

B. WHY PUT IT OFF?

1. wait till better? - will never be any thing better than LOST

2. am not ready? then not sing this song! will only implicate yourself further, will be a first class hypocrite.
