Tyre
3. PROPHECY AGAINST NATION OF TYRE (Phoenicians) Ezek. 26:3-5;12,14,21
1. Many nations, as waves of the sea, would come against it.
2. The walls and buildings would be torn down and cast into the water. All the stone, timber, and even the soil down to the bedrock, would be covered by the sea.
3. The city site would be made a bare rock and used as a place for spreading and repair of fishing nets.
4. The city would no longer exist.
1. 586 B.C. Phoenicians came under siege by Babylon.

b. then built 2nd smaller city on island 1/2 mile out in Med. Sea. (see Encyclopedia Brit, xxii, pg. 452)
2. 322 B.C.. (333) Alex. the Great conquered coastal cities, including their navies , sent them against Tyre. (Ency. Brit., xxii, pg. 452
