3. When it is NOT designated, it is always translated SING.
4. If this is note true, then ALL are commanded to PLAY and singing ALONE would be rebellion towards God.
Have instruments in heaven
Based upon Revelation passages - 5:8; 14:1-3; 15:2.
Revelation is a book of symbols - hence not taken literal.
5:8 - bowls = prayers, then harps = praise.
14:1-3, note says AS -- they are not literally there.
15:2 - compare with 'sea of glass etc., which is literal in heaven????
Even if it WERE true, heaven is NOT the church.
OT
NT
HEAVEN
HARP
HEART
????
Have them in our homes, then ok in church
Also have babies, food, business, government, school, sex, etc. - are ALL of these things to be brought into the church as worship???? no.
They are commanded in the Psalms
Was part of the law done away - John 12:34; 10:34; Rom. 3:10,11,14, 19
We are NOT under the law - Rom. 7; Gal. 3:21ff
DANCE also part of Psalms - why not that also?
Incense, sacrifices, sabbath, priesthood, - all or nothing!
It is an aid
We are to make melody in the heart, singing with grace in the heart, singing with understanding, teaching, admonishing each other - it does NOT aid any of these!
An expedient must first be lawful - 1 Cor. 10:23.
This is not 'lawful' (there is no authority for such) - hence not expedient.
This not 'edify' - hence not expedient.
This has caused stumbling & division - hence not expedient.
